HSS Training have worked closely with Skills For Security and the BSIA Security Systems Section, to bring members of BSIA a package of courses relating specially to the use of powered access equipment, within the security industry.

These courses are designed for persons who are required to work safely and effectively at height in compliance with their organisations policy statements, current legislation and accepted best practice in health and safety.

Content: · Safe operation and limitation of use · Introduction to M.E.W.P · Major components · Pre-use checks and inspections · Starting/stopping the machine · Pre-use function checks · Planning the route · Travelling the route and manoeuvring · Setting the machine for work · Basic operational practice · Typical work applications · Parking the machine · Theory test · Practical assessment

The course is accompanied by a DVD, reinforcing the key issues of working safely in mobile work platforms. Delegates will also be provided with a course work book that follows the course presentation slide by slide.
Open courses are being held around the country from January 2006, a detailed list of these dates can be seen below.

Additional training days can be arranged depending upon delegate numbers.

The above prices are for individuals attending open courses around the country. There is a maximum of four people on the combined course and six people on individual courses.

Alternatively if you have the maximum number of delegates to attend a course you may wish to book the trainer for the day as opposed to paying the per person rate, the price for the trainer for the day is £720.00 + Vat, this applies for both the combined course and the individual courses.

Included in this cost will be: The trainer for the day, all administration costs, course workbooks, the governing bodies certificates and credit card style ID cards.
