Practical Slinging Beneath the Hook

Course aims

The course is designed to provide delegates with a knowledge and understanding of items of slinging equipment and their correct use, as well as the ability to plan routine slinging tasks for safe operation.


 

Course content follows closely the LEEA Code of Practice for the Safe Use of Lifting Equipment and requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER).

All candidates will be assessed based upon a series of practical lifting tasks. Each candidate will complete a task sheet for each of the tasks.

  • Lifting accessories
  • Pre-use inspection
  • Practical lifting examples
  • Crane signals and communication

Certification

Delegates successfully completing the course will receive a certificate and a photo ID card, valid for three years.

Notes

Safe Slinging & Lifting Appreciation course is a prerequisite for this course.
