A series of courses have been developed for operators of confined space equipment. These courses are specifically for delegates who require knowledge of safe working practices in confined spaces.

Confined Space awareness with escape & working breathing apparatus set
Developed for delegates who need to be able to wear escape & working breathing apparatus set in a hazardous environment. This course is ideal for those who may be required to supervise others in confined spaces and effect self rescue techniques.

The course will make use of HSS' extensive range of equipment, and includes practical exercises and written assessment.

 

 
COURSE AIM:
To enable delegates to acquire the knowledge and skills required to work with specified risks in confined spaces.
Course Agenda:
^ The Confined Spaces Regulations 1997 & Approved Code of Practice
^ Identify risks and their control
^ Hazardous atmospheres and gas monitoring
^ Risk assessing residual hazards
^ Operation of safe systems of work
^ Use of permit-to-work control measures
^ Personal protection and hygiene requirements
^ Use of Escape Breathing Apparatus
^ Use of short term duration working Breathing Apparatus
^ Self rescue procedures
^ Practical exercises in confined spaces

Certification
Successful delegates will be awarded a certificate of
attendance, which will enable the employer to appoint them as wearers of working breathing apparatus and escape sets for confined space entry. Valid for 3 years.
