Course aims

These courses provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills required to comply with the Roads and Street Works Act 1991.

We offer a wide range of street works training for operators who are required to place signs, barriers and lights on the highway in accordance with current legislation. Each course focuses on building an understanding of the potential hazards and the legal obligations associated with working on a public highway.

Significant changes have been made to the Specification for the Reinstatement of Openings in the Highway (2nd Edition) and the Code of Practice for Safety at Street works and Road works. As a result, the Awarding Bodies for the Street works Qualifications have reviewed their assessment standards.

HSS courses have been updated and durations changed to reflect these new, more rigorous assessment standards.

Certification

Successful completion of the course will result in the issue of a City & Guilds Unit Accredited Certificate.
