Course aims

These courses fulfil the legal requirement to inform, instruct and train employees in accordance with the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations and the Approved Code of Practice.

Asbestos is still the greatest single work related cause of death from ill health.

For years asbestos was hailed as a miracle product – incredibly strong, fireproof and an excellent insulator. This meant it was used in thousands of different applications.

Today, we are aware of just how dangerous this material can be. The law requires that anyone working with asbestos receives special training. This involves learning about breathing apparatus, protective clothing, methods of work and other safety precautions.

Whether contractor or client organisation, HSS can tailor the level of training to suit your needs, from operatives to supervisors or at management level. Each course includes practical and theory sessions in order to provide the knowledge essential to managing asbestos safely.
